Açai or Pitaya?

Açai, aside from being one of the most commonly mispronounced words in the culinary world, is pound for pound one of the most nutritionally-packed berries available on the market.

So what about Pitaya?  While the Açai berry may not be much to look at, Pitaya is an exotically beautiful looking fruit with a lot of nutritional value.

It is also high in fiber which aids in digestion.  What most people don't  know about Pitaya is that it is an excellent  source of dietary protein which enhances metabolism and helps with weight loss.

Keep Stress In Check!

  1. Go for a 10 minute walk and boost your endorphins.
  2. Take a deep breath and increase the supply of oxygen to your brain which helps calm you down.
  3. Step away from the screen. Make sure to take frequent breaks from your screen time and try to shut off at least one hour before bedtime.

Increase Your Heart Rate Daily

There's no elevator to health. Make that choice to take the stairs, go for a jog, or intensify your workout routine by adding interval training, jumping jacks or burpees and target your heart rate!

Cardiovascular activity is essential in maintaining a strong heart. Research shows by elevating your heart rate at least 30 minutes a day for 5 days a week, you can deliver clean, oxygenated blood to your lungs and muscles making them powerful and healthy! Also, cardio activities can help you lose fat, improve focus, boost your immune system, and decrease your LDL ("bad") cholesterol.

This month, take it one step at a time. Your heart will love you for it!
